Teacher’s Corner/Kid’s Mart was formed in 1989 after Teacher's Corner, then a small teacher supply store, merged with Wilderness Toys, a home based toy store. Jane Burbank worked for the partners as an employee. Jane and her husband, Dale, made the decision to buy out one of the owners in 1994. In 2000, the Burbanks bought out the other partner and became the sole owners of Teacher’s Corner/Kid’s Mart.
Under Jane's careful management, the business grew, and in 2005 they moved the store from its original location at 223 S. Gillette Avenue (across from First Interstate Bank) to the other end of the block at 201 S. Gillette Avenue. This doubled the store's floor space. After Dale retired from teaching in 2013, he started working full time at the store. Teacher’s Corner/Kid’s Mart continued to grow, and once more, moved in 2014 to our current location, 213 S. Gillette Avenue—right in the middle of the same block. Once again, this doubled the store's floor space. In that same year, Jane was honored with the Kelly Swenson Award, the Campbell County Chamber of Commerce's business person of the year award.
We are proud to be Wyoming's largest independently owned and operated toy store and the only teacher supply store in the region. Our knowledgeable and friendly staff of retired teachers, young parents, and college students is dedicated to assisting our customers. They will gladly help find the perfect toys or gifts, or the resources teachers need to enhance their classrooms. They can also recommend great resources for parents interested in helping their children with school work at home.
